Requirements to Become a Field Registrar

• Must be a registered voter in Nevada.
• Must complete a training session provided by the Carson City Elections Office.
• Must take an oath of office to uphold the duties of a Field Registrar.
• Must follow all state and local election laws and procedures.

• Register Voters: Assist eligible residents in completing and submitting voter registration forms.
• Verify Eligibility: Ensure individuals meet the requirements to register (e.g., age, residency, citizenship).
• Distribute Forms: Provide voter registration applications and help with completion.
• Submit Forms Promptly: Return completed forms to the Carson City Elections Office within the legally required timeframe (usually within 7 days).

Key Legal Requirements:

1. Appointment & Oath

   • NRS 293.505(6): County clerks may appoint Field Registrars.
   • Must take an oath of office to uphold the Constitution and laws of Nevada and the U.S.

2. Eligibility

   • Must be a registered voter in Nevada.
   • Must complete training provided by the county elections office.

3. Duties & Conduct

   • Must accept all eligible voter registration applications regardless of political affiliation.
   • Must submit completed forms to the county clerk within 7 days (or sooner if close to a deadline).
   • Cannot alter or discard any completed registration forms.

4. Prohibited Acts

   • NRS 293.805: It is unlawful to:
     • Misrepresent eligibility requirements.
     • Compensate based on the number of registrations collected.
     • Fail to submit forms on time.
     • Coerce or mislead registrants.

5. Penalties
