The C-Hill Foundation in partnership with Carson City Parks, Recreation & Open Space, and the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, is calling on the community to help restore one of the City's most beloved landmarks: the American Flag on C-Hill. For over 20 years, the flag has stood on Carson City Open Space as a symbol of pride, patriotism, and unity, overlooking Carson City and inspiring residents and visitors alike. 

"The C-Hill Flag is a landmark that proudly reminds us of what our community can achieve when we join together," said Lucia Maloney, President of the C-Hill Foundation. Katy Lara, Treasurer of the C-Hill Foundation, added, "Everyone is invited to be a part of this project and repair our flag". 

Today, the flag is in need of renewal. Years of exposure to the elements have taken a toll on the C-Hill Flag, and the Foundation is seeking volunteers, donations, supplies, and equipment. 

The restoration project will kick off with a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, October 4th, at 10:00am at the C-Hill trailhead (1499 McKay Drive, Carson City, NV 89703). No hiking is necessary to attend or participate in the ceremony. Following the ceremony, volunteers will ascend the hill on foot and by vehicle for a workday dedicated to disassembling the existing flag. Community members interested in volunteering are asked to sign up in advance to receive instructions and additional information. 

"The C-Hill Flag has withstood time, weather, and countless visitors for over two decades," said Lauren Stevens, Secretary of the C-Hill Foundation. "This project is a great opportunity for residents to come together for something meaningful."
