The Operations Division oversees the suppression personnel and activities, including the Training Division, Wildland Division, and Special Operations.

We proudly provide “all-risk” emergency and non-emergency services to the citizens of Carson City and surrounding communities through mutual aid.  As an "all-risk" fire department, we respond to a wide range of emergencies, including medical aid, technical rescues, public assists, hazardous materials incidents, house fires, commercial fires, wildland fires, vehicle accidents, and more.

Non-emergency calls for service are among the most important we respond to. Our firefighters take pride in delivering a service and helping our citizens when they don’t know where else to turn. Firefighters are trained to quickly diagnose a problem and provide a solution for a positive outcome.

We currently operate out of five strategically positioned firehouses throughout the city.  Stations 51, 52, and 53 are each staffed with a fire engine with three personnel and an advanced life support ambulance with two firefighter paramedics. Station 55 is staffed with one ladder truck with three personnel and one shift Battalion Chief. These stations operate twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Station 54 is staffed with eight wildland firefighters four days a week. In addition, we staff one advanced life support ambulance with two paramedics four days a week, and one basic life support ambulance with two emergency medical technicians seven days a week during peak hours.

The Operation Division is dedicated to protecting life, property, and the environment through an unwavering commitment to Carson City. Through rigorous, ongoing training, our firefighters and support staff have developed the skills, knowledge, and discipline necessary to perform effectively under pressure and to provide dependable, high-quality emergency and non-emergency services at all times.
