To start service, property owners must provide Utility Billing a completed and signed application. (Both digital or handwritten signatures are acceptable).

Application with Carson City Utility Billing for water, sewer and/or storm drain service is in accordance with the following terms and conditions:

1. The Applicant must own the property for which services are applied and agrees to pay for said services per Carson City Municipal Code Chapter 12.01.070.
   
   
2. The applicant’s signature must be on file to receive water, sewer and/or storm drain service.  Service will be supplied to the address indicated. Additional properties may be added upon request.
   
   
3. The applicant agrees that service arrangements are subject to the municipal code of the City of Carson City. (The municipal code can be viewed at www.carsoncity.gov.)
   
   
4. A $20 establishment fee will be charged for each new account and will appear on the first or second bill.
   
   
5. The applicant is aware that wasting water is prohibited in Carson City.  The City imposes water restrictions each year from June 1 through September 30.  These restrictions are due to delivery and storage limitations, not supply shortages. 

• Odd-numbered addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
• Even-numbered addresses water on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
• There is to be no watering by anyone on Mondays.

Watering is not allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any day - the hours when water evaporation is at its highest.

You can request Watering Restriction Exemptions for the following by calling (775) 887-2355:

1.  Licensed commercial gardeners or commercial caretakers, who are on the premises at the time watering is taking place.
   
   
2. Vegetable gardens, flower beds and trees within two months of planting.
   
   

3.  New lawns are exempt from watering restrictions for 21 days from planting or installation date.

4. Residential customers adjusting and repairing their irrigation system during the non-watering times for a period not to exceed one hour.

SEWER:

Residential sewer users pay a monthly flat rate. Commercial sewer users pay a monthly base charge and a volume charge (per 1,000 gallons of metered domestic water) based on either a low-concentration or high-concentration discharge.
