Fee Schedule for Public Record Requests:
Effective July 1, 2026:

Routine Requests |
$23 per hour over 10 hours of staff time |
|
Routine records requests consist of requests for readily available documents that do not have significant or complex redaction concerns, do not require significant staff time to research, do not see large amounts of data, and do not include video records. Routine records requests include 10 police reports or documents or less, whether from one case or from multiple cases. Routine records requests include traffic citations and traffic accident photos that do not require any redaction. |

New - Concealed Weapon Permit*: $99.00
Renewal - Concealed Weapon Permit*: $64.00
Change/Replacement - Concealed Weapon Permit*: $15.00

Civil Document Service Fee Schedule:
Service fees for document service may be paid in cash, check, money order, or cashier’s checks. Electronic payments are not accepted at this time for civil document service. Checks must be made payable to: Carson City Sheriff's Office.
No refunds will be issued. There is no refund for an unsuccessful service. We retain the fee for processing and due diligence for attempts made.

The service charge schedule below is dictated and posted per NRS 248.275:
Service Fees:
- Small Claims Affidavit and Order: $17.00 + mileage*
- Summons and Complaint: $17.00 + mileage*
- Orders/Motions $15.00 + mileage*
- Notice of Eviction (serving one): $26.00 + mileage*
- Notice of Eviction (not fewer than 2 nor more than 10 such notices to the same location): $ 20.00 + mileage*
- Notice of Eviction (not fewer than 11 nor more than 24 such notices to the same location): $ 17.00 + mileage*
- Notice of Eviction (25 or more such notices to the same location): $15.00 + mileage*
- Subpoena, for each witness summoned: $15.00 + mileage*
- Petitions $ 17.00 + mileage*
- Writ of Execution (included Writ $15.00 and Writ of Garnishment $15.00 plu mailing of notice): $32.00 + mileage*
- Writ of Attachment (included Writ $15.00 and Order $15.00 plus mailing of notice $2.00): $32.00+ mileage*
- Writ of Possession or Restitution: $21.00 + mileage*
- Bond/Undertaking: $ 5.00
- Posting Property Sales (per posting): $15.00 + mileage*
- Mileage (not to exceed $20.00): $2.00 per mile*
Calculating Mileage:
- Go to www.mapquest.com Maps
- Enter the starting address of: 911 East Musser Street
- Enter the address for service
- Click on ‘shortest distance’
- Click on ‘get directions’
- Round to the nearest mile, and multiple the number of total miles by $2.00, not to exceed 10 miles
- Add the mileage to the base fee for the total amount due
