Citizen Patrol / Volunteers in Partnership with the Sheriff (VIP's) Program
Are you interested in making a positive impact in your community? Look no further than the Carson City Sheriff's Office Volunteers, in partnership with the Sheriff. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has a team of dedicated volunteers that provide invaluable services to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office and the Carson City Community.
We welcome citizens aged 18 or older who are passionate about assisting with law enforcement and engaging in community service. Whether you have prior experience or not, we encourage you to apply as a CCSO VIP. While participation in the Carson City Sheriff's Office Citizens Academy is preferred, it is not required at the time of applying.
VIPS Patrol enforces handicap parking restrictions, conducts vacation home checks, initiates the removal of abandoned vehicles, conducts radar trailer placement, completes office reports, and assists our department as needs arise.
