The Chaplin Unit provides critical emotional support to citizens affected by a traumatic event.  Chaplains are unpaid volunteers who assist the entire agency 24/7/365 by giving emotional, moral, and spiritual support.  Chaplains accompany deputies when difficult news is to be delivered to an individual or family.  Each of Carson City Sheriff's four Chaplains receives specialized training for these delicate and often emotional duties.
