Carson River Trail System Phase IV - Riverview Trailhead
About the Project:
The Korean War Veterans Memorial and Riverview Trailhead, located at 603 Marsh Road at the east end of 5th Street, is one of Carson City's oldest and most popular trailheads, providing access to over 14-miles of multi-use pathways that wind through thousands of acres of parks and open space in the Carson River area.
This exciting project will renovate the aging trailhead. Project elements will include:
* New paved parking with ADA access.
* Drainage improvements.
* New restroom, ADA accessible, with pedestrian and dog watering station.
* New shade structure, picnic tables, benches, and new signage.
* Protection of historic ranch structures.
* The Korean War Veterans Memorial will not be altered, however the project will provide improved ADA access to the memorial.
This project was funded due to the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act, which authorized the sale of BLM-administered federal lands within a designated boundary in the Las Vegas Valley and required proceeds to be used on projects to fund federal, state and local projects that benefit communities and public lands.
