AGENDA
1. Call to Order, Roll Call, and Determination of Quorum.
2. Public Comment**
The public is invited at this time to comment on and discuss any topic that is relevant to, or within the authority of, the Carson City Redevelopment Authority Citizens Committee, including any matter that is not specifically included on the agenda as an action item.
3. For Possible Action: Approval of Minutes – March 5, 2018
4. Meeting Items:
Staff Summary: Redevelopment annually funds special events from a portion of the Revolving Fund. A total of $25,000 has tentatively been allocated in the FY 2019 budget for Redevelopment Special Events. The following Special Event funding requests were submitted: $7,500 for NV Rural Counties RSVP Program, Inc. for the 4th of July Celebration fireworks; $6,500 for Advocates to End Domestic Violence for the Taste of Downtown event; and $1,500 for the Nevada Commission on Women event at the Governor’s Mansion.
Staff Summary: The Redevelopment Authority has allocated $5,000 in FY 2018 for special event equipment and infrastructure. The FY 2018 funds have tentatively been allocated to the purchase of a portable sound system, but staff recommends delaying that purchase and allocating the funds to the replacement of the string lighting on the plaza. The existing lights were not designed for commercial application and are continuously in need of maintenance. The purchase would allow the new lighting to be in place for the 2018 summer event season.
5. Discussion Only:
a. Staff reports and updates on matters relating to the RACC. (Lee Plemel)
b. Future agenda items for the next RACC meeting.
c. RACC member reports and comments.
